I just got my first SOI referral!  Out of nowhere a girlfriend of mine emailed me on Facebook and suggested that I add someone as a friend because that someone is looking for a Realtor.

Now, do I email Sarah (the referred person)?  Do I email my friend back and ask for Sarah's number and call her instead?  Do both?  I have already emailed my thanks as well as to ask for the number, but haven't heard back yet.  Here is my proposed email to Sarah:

Hi Sarah,
Moira suggested that I get in touch with you because she thinks that you and I would work well together.  I'm a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty and she told me that you were looking for someone with that job description.  Would you like to get together and see if we'd be a good fit?  Please feel free to give me a call on my cell at 910-709-0729.  You can also email me at MelissaKatzenberger@gmail.com.  Looking forward to hearing from you!

All my best,
Melissa

This is my FIRST contact with someone who was referred to me and I don't want to screw it up!

Excellent news!  I waited around for about an hour to hear back from my friend OR to see if someone here had any great advice.  I didn't hear anything at all, so I went ahead and sent the email I had drafted.  She just got back to me and needs an agent!  They are getting stationed in Germany in February and need to sell their house... she wants me to call her tomorrow!

I'm SO SO glad that I went ahead and contacted her!  My first contact with someone unknown and it just may turn into a listing!  All because I took a girlfriend out for a cocktail last week.

Yay Melissa!!! Good for you and I LOVE the excitement I hear in your voice.

I know you've been all over SWS in the last week, but let me know if you need help getting ready for the listing appointment - there's lots of stuff around here about the First One, and of course, we're happy to help you too!
